William Wright - Patisserie 23

Patisserie 23 is a Bakery stall that delivers delicious French style baked goods including sourdough breads, almond croissants, fruit danishes, filled donuts, quiches, and select decadent cakes and tarts.

William took on this fabulous stall after working hard with Jamboree Events as their Market Hand for Moggill Markets and helping out with the stall when it first opened. Will is a local high school student and got involved with the markets through his Mum Tess who holds Elirese Designs selling fabulous handmade statement earrings.

Will explains that after working hard supporting our markets … I was thankful be offered the business as it allowed me to do something productive in my spare time. I have had the business for almost a year now and it’s gone through a few changes. The items I’ve sold have changed to meet the wants and needs of the customers. I also run the stall as effectively as possible from the way I present my delicious goodies and the way I prepare it.

I have a standard range of goodies that I stock as I know the community love these. Many of my products are also vegan which I know you all love! However the menu will alway be changing with new additions and treats to select from. I nearly always sell out of baked goods at our markets so be quick to get in the queue!

I run my stall at Moggill, Mt Crosby and occasionally other markets and sometimes you can find me at Moggill during the school holidays tempting you with my goodies at the Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. If you have any questions about my baked products you are welcome to come over and ask. Furthermore, you can check out the 4070 Facebook Community Group for my business as my mum usually posts where I’ll be on there.

Just come down to the markets and see what’s out. If you’ve already tasted something from my bakery you could try something else to see if you might enjoy something different. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Sharon Matthews - Two Little Gumnuts

Two Little Gumnuts is a handmade children's clothing line aimed for children between sizes newborn (0000) and 10 years. Girls, boys, and unisex designs, from play to formal wear.

I started this business in 2021, A bit about me, my name is Sharon (Shaz) and I’m a self taught sewer who starting out making clothing for my own little Gumnuts and with the encouragement from family, friends and even strangers Two Little Gumnuts started to come alive.

I absolutely love creating outfits made with bright and fun fabrics. I try and keep it as fun as possible for the kids wither it be for a formal occasion or just something for everyday play and comfort.

I offer my standard sizes from newborn to size 10 years with the ability to tailor to your child's requirements. Having my own children, I understand not all kids fit into the same sizes, some may need extra length added, or require a smaller waist. All my designs are thoroughly tested on my own children as well as friends' children and not everything will make the range, but my aim is comfort, fun, funky and durability.

As all my orders are made to order (apart from off the rack premade items which are available at all markets) I can work with you to select from my array of fabric choices so that you are receiving a one-of-a-kind specialized item just for you and the children in your life.

You can find me at the monthly Moggill markets along with a few others around the Brisbane/ Ipswich area, I also have a website you are able to order from and contact me through at www.twolittlegumnuts.com.au along with social media Instagram: twolittle_gumnuts and Facebook two little gumnuts.

I started doing markets at Moggill in August 2022 and have really enjoyed and admire the community here. Everyone has a smile on their face and is happy for a chat. I love that even if they are not buying, they come in and say hi and see what I have new on offer or just to come in and admire my creations. I also enjoy seeing children come back to me in my makes. Having them come and show me their outfits and how much they love them makes me extremely happy and it encourages me to keep on going.

The best way anyone can support me is to visit my online store and give me some feedback on items you may have purchased or even if you have not purchased anything giving me some shares and likes via social media. As I am still new, and a one woman show I need all the word of mouth and shares I can get.

I try and update my collection when seasons change, but I will always have my full season stock online for ordering any time of the year. My Christmas range will be launching in late October so keep an eye out for me if you want to purchase any Christmas clothing and accessories.

Our Stallholders are the heartbeat of our markets. For our very first Market Blog post we want to share Carrie Antoniou founder, owner and head creator of Riverbell Cottage - not to mention mum, wife, farmer, homesteader, baker, entrepreneur and so much more. Carrie shares with us about her business Riverbell Cottage, why she started, how it's evolved, why markets, what she offers her cutomers and where you can find out more.

Our Stallholders are the heartbeat of our markets without them and their support and huge effort to set up their stalls and present their beautifully crafted, homegrown, home baked, cleverly sourced wares for our communities there wouldn’t be community markets. Here are JAMboree Events we are so humbled by the work that our stallholders put in to join our markets that we want to share even more of their stories and work with you.

For our very first Market Blog post we want to share Carrie Antoniou founder, owner and head creator of Riverbell Cottage - not to mention mum, wife, farmer, homesteader, baker, entrepreneur and so much more. Carrie shares with us about her business Riverbell Cottage, why she started, how its evolved, why markets, what she offers her cutomers and where you can find out more.

Here’s Carrie’s story…

I started envisioning a 'homesteading' business about 4 years ago. I started off teaching old fashioned skills like pickling, fermenting and sourdough breadmaking. These classes took off and I ran them for several years.

"Homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterised by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, and may also involve the small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craftwork for household use or sale."

Riverbell Cottage is a small homestead in Bellbowrie, Brisbane focused on upcycling, veggie gardening, composting and creating a sustainable way of living.

Behind the scenes of my homesteading classes I was busy making and experimenting with soapmaking. I went to my first market at Pullenvale Hall with some upcycled furniture pieces, some jars of marmalade jam and some plant pots I'd also upcycled. My goal was to encourage people to come along to my homesteading classes.

Fast forward a year and I was selling soap at the markets too because I was making so much I thought I'd better sell some so I could continue to make more! The interest in soap was immediate and I loved experimenting with recipes and really perfecting the craft. I started to think about labelling and packaging and also offering soapmaking classes alongside my homesteading classes. These took off and I was completely hooked by the soapmaking bug!

Now several years later I made the decision to put the homesteading classes on hold so I could focus on building my soapmaking business and brand. It's been quite a journey and I've loved (almost) every part of it!

I had a keen interest in getting to know others in my community who shared similar values in making things from scratch, being sustainable and supporting 'local'. So I looked into local community markets.

My first ever market was at the Pullenvale Hall and I've always loved this community of makers. When JAMooree Events decided to start the Moggill Markets I was very keen to be part of it. I've loved meeting many wonderful stallholders over the past few years and love this community that JAMboree Events have created.

I have a large range of natural, botanical soaps, balms and candles. All 100% free from synthetic fragrances and additives. All my products are safe for the whole family,  are good for the skin and the environment. A lot of people in this area have septic systems too and so being aware of what is going down our drains is very important too!

You will find me monthly at the Moggill Markets and also online at www.riverbellcottage.com. Please like my posts on Facebook and Instragram, comment and share. This means a lot and helps get my business more exposure. If you love a product please let others know so it can continue to grow  support as I grow my business, I really appreciate it.
